Hi. Iām Rebekah, and Iām the maker behind Shipwreck Montauk. I studied interior architecture and design at Parsons before dropping out to apprentice with a goth jewelry designer. Working with him taught me that the most valuable aspect of design is belief.
Most of my work is built around ocean themes and sea lore. One of my signature works, The Spanish Galleon ā worn by beautiful skate legend Dylan Rieder ā uses the ship as a metaphor for the adventure of life. Itās a vessel in which we pass through personal storms and explore our own boundaries and horizons.
This work takes place in the transcendent beauty of Montauk along the Eastern seaboard. The setting compels me to honor nature in my craft. Itās why each piece uses recycled gold and silver.
I aim to create modern heirlooms that will be loved by those who wear them and that will be passed down for generations.
I couldn't do this work without the help of experts in their field. I haveĀ Buhler Designs to thank for the product photographs, K FoxĀ for the illustrations, andĀ Studio CieloĀ for content, communications, marketing, and website support. Don't hesitate to reach out to any of them if you need similar services.
